Build early phonemic awareness by learning letter recognition from A to Z through alphabet-focused books (A–Z). Progress into identifying and reading short vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) using simple words and picture support. Learners are introduced to beginning and ending consonant blends, aiding early decoding skills. Practice includes recognizing sight words like I, me, he, she, it, they, and understanding word families.
Begin forming letters and associating sounds with symbols. Students trace and write letters A–Z and gradually practice writing basic CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. Learners also engage in oral sentence building using simple word prompts (I see the cat), and begin copying short sentences, preparing them for structured writing in future levels.

Explore basic sentence components by recognizing and using pronouns (I, me, he, she), simple verbs (is, am), and prepositions (in, on, under). Learners are introduced to consonants and blends like nd, ng, ct, ft and lt, xt, sk, which lay the groundwork for understanding how letters combine to form words. Repetitive usage in context helps develop early grammar intuition.
Develop vocabulary through repetition and recognition of familiar words used in everyday conversation. Visual prompts and story-based lessons introduce simple nouns and pronouns, and common adjectives are explored through sensory-rich images. Words are reinforced through themes such as colors, actions, opposites, and object identification, with regular review to support retention and application.
